How can I connect to the device by console?
IntroductionThe Console port is used to establish a management session with the unit to configure its features and parameter settings. The unit does not need an Internet Protocol (IP) address for local management sessions because they are not conducted over a network.Local managementTo perform local management, you must be at the location of the unit and must use the management cable included with the unit.

One 2 m (6.6 ft) local management cable with RJ-45 (8P8C) and DB-9 (D-sub 9-pin) connectors
Most computers require an adapter to convert the DB-9 serial port to USB

To establish a local management session with the unit, connect the computer with a terminal emulation program (e.g. Putty, TeraTerm, etc.) to the Console port, which has an RJ-45 style (8P8C) connector, using the provided management cable. You can download te terminal emulator for free on their webpage.

Connect the other end of the cable to the computer with a terminal emulator program, you can use “Device Manager” from Windows to see in which port “Ports (COM & LPT)” the unit is connecting.

Configure the terminal emulator program as follows:

The Console port is set to the following specifications:
- Baud rate: 9600 bps (The baud rates of the port are 9600, 19200, 38400, 57600, and 115200 bps.)
- Data bits: 8
- Parity: None
- Stop bits: 1
- Flow control: None
For the specific baud rate, refer to the installation guide of the unit, most units use 9600 bps.

Enter the default user name and password. They are “manager” and “friend” (without the quotes), respectively. The user name and password are case sensitive.
The local management session starts when the User Exec mode prompt,
